SUMMARY

Adkins Engineering & Surveying, LLP. (AE) is looking for a highly motivated civil engineering project manager to join our group of successful professionals in southern Oregon who provide personalized engineering services to communities and clients throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California. We are seeking to hire a project manager who possesses sound engineering and team leadership skills with potential interest in future firm ownership opportunities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in a team to fund, plan, and design a variety of municipal water, wastewater, water resources, utility, site development, and transportation projects
  • Develop project scope, budget, schedule and project delivery plans
  • Develop studies, reports, design drawings and technical specifications
  • Provide funding/bidding assistance and construction management for water, wastewater, water resources, site development and other municipal projects
  • Coordinate with other engineers and surveyors on a wide variety of projects
  • Manage and mentor engineering technicians and interns

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience designing water, wastewater, water resources and/or other infrastructure projects for public entities (cities, counties, districts, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in Oregon and/or California is preferred.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license with no driving under the influence arrests.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be responsible for working on a team to plan and design a variety of water, wastewater, utility, site development, water resources, and transportation projects. Responsibilities include development and monitoring of project scope, budget, schedule, and project delivery plan, developing studies, reports, design drawings, and technical specifications, and making presentations. This position will be responsible for planning, design, funding assistance, bidding, and construction management for water, wastewater, site development, other municipal infrastructure projects, and/or transportation projects. Projects will be located primarily in southern Oregon.

REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 5 years of experience designing water, wastewater, and/or other infrastructure projects for public entities (cities, counties, ports, districts, etc.). Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, are preferred to be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon, or must have at a minimum an Engineering Intern status with the ability to obtain a Professional Engineers license within one year of employment. Additionally, candidates’ resumes must show experience with public speaking and participating in meetings with clients, the public, and contractors, experience developing and writing planning documents, experience developing work agreements and task orders, and experience delivering projects on time and within budget. Involvement in project permitting and construction engineering is also anticipated. Project sites will be located primarily in southern Oregon.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.  The applicant will be able to obtain Engineering Intern status in Oregon within one year of employment.  Experience with water and wastewater systems, streets, water resources, and stormwater systems is preferred. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are needed to interact with design staff, clients, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.  Familiarity with  AutoCAD Civil 3D software is preferred. SUMMARY

Adkins Engineering & Surveying, LLP. (AE) is looking for a full time Land Surveyor Intern (LSI) or a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team of surveyors in southern Oregon. AE’s survey team has performed hundreds of surveys in southern Oregon for a variety of federal, state, local, and private entities on a wide variety of projects. Our survey crew uses the latest technology to satisfy clients’ requirements in a timely and accurate manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct field and office work on diverse public and private projects
  • Perform legal research, computations, boundary resolutions, ALTA and design surveys
  • Prepare legal descriptions and platting documents
  • Coordinate construction survey and staking
  • Mentor survey crews and exemplify an attitude of continual improvement
  • Provide fieldwork quality control
  • Coordinate with other surveyors and engineers on a wide variety of projects
  • Deliver excellent client service
  • Work as either a one or two man survey crew performing boundary, topographical or construction staking survey work.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of land surveying experience
  • Current registered LSI or a PLS (preferred) in the State of Oregon or California or the ability to gain licensure in 1 to 2 years.
  • Platting background and experience with AutoCAD to create plats, design base maps, and generate digital terrain models
  • Familiarity with robotic instrumentation, automated data collection methods, and GPS equipment
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is preferred
  • Able to work independently and work well within a project team under the direction of senior surveyors
  • Work in all types of inclement weather and be able to lift and carry 50 pounds and walk 2 to 4 miles during the workday

Location: Klamath Falls, Oregon
Position Type: Temporary Part-Time/Full-Time
Base Pay:  $16.50 per hour, depending on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will require assisting surveyors in the field on a variety of construction, design, and boundary surveys, primarily located throughout Oregon and Northern California. The survey technician will assist the party chief with setting line and grade hubs and operating total stations, GPS receivers, and digital levels. The survey technician will be expected to complete various office tasks including preparation of legal descriptions, and drafting exhibits and maps using AutoCAD civil 3d. Work will be scheduled as needed with possible overtime when necessary. Overnight travel will be required.

REQUIREMENTS

To apply for this position, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of surveying experience and/or currently be enrolled in or have successfully completed 1 year of survey specific education. This position requires the ability to perform physically-demanding work, lift and carry 50 pounds, and walk 2 to 4 miles during the work day in all types of weather, including inclement conditions. STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING INTERN

Type: Part-Time
Base Pay: $16 to $20 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Klamath Falls, Oregon

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position involves working with a project engineer and or project manager to design a variety of commercial, municipal and residential projects. The Intern will assist Project Engineers/Managers in performing structural analysis & design computations and preparing structural plans & details for various private and public projects. Involvement in construction engineering, inspection and materials testing is also anticipated. Project sites will be located primarily in southern Oregon.

REQUIREMENTS: At a minimum, applicants must have completed the following, or equivalent, course work:
